We worked closely with FLSmidth on this project - FLSmidth supplied all the mechanical equipment and we carried out all the installation work for Plasmor.

This project required a pair of kilns with a total length of around 50m, weighing around 100 tons to be supplied and installed. Although access on the site was good, moving the 100 ton sections to the installation point created its own problems. A new road had to be built on site to get the kilns to their final destination.

This project involved the installation of new drive gear into a raw mill. Because the working space was so confined there was no room in the mill building to get a crane inside, so we had to design specialist lifting beams before any work could be started. The lift was very complex and required very detailed studies to be carried out to ensure the safe handling of the two gear parts.

Each half of the drive gear weighed 15 tones and had to be installed to a tolerance of 0.5mm axially and 0.75 mm radially. We only had a 24 day window to install the lifting gear, get the old drive gear off and the new drive gear installed and working.

Coal  Injector Plant re-location.  This involved moving an existing plant from one operational site to another, we managed the decommissioning, dismantling and transportation through to the re-assembly and commissioning of the entire coal injection plant all within a 6 month period.

Our teams have also relocated large scale plants such as cement kilns, reducing the risk and burden on their customers engineering personnel.

When a sudden requirement for a skilled installation arose, we were able to provide that team and work to very exacting standards.

We were involved with the mechanical installation of roughing stands (around 100metres in total) for the new rod mill furnace and we had a surveyor on site ensuring alignment of the equipment to very high tolerances. 

These days many companies are looking for alternative fuel sources and as such we are heavily involved in plant installation for burning these fuels. We will work with your company to help you realise the benefits of burning alternative fuels in your kilns.

We have been involved in several installations of alternative fuel feed systems.  These systems can handle anything from old tyres, food waste and MBM (meat bone meal) to conditioned general waste called Climafuel.   Alternative fuel use not only reduces the costs for the end user but it also cuts down on landfill which in turn shows support of environmental issues.
